Wayde Sunday loosing his arm and a good slice of his torso. Being a ODST engineer, Sunday has to crack seals as well as fix things. When disarming a seal, the energy can strike back in defense. They call this ‘backlash.’ A powerful seal can generate back lash if a hack is attempted. Sunday was caught in a backlashing seal and the energy wave carved through his body.
